The generosity from the parishioners of St. Therese of Lisieux has always been outstanding. This year I humbly ask you to prayerfully consider your pledge, so we may reach our goal of $155,000. Pledges can be mailed to the church, dropped off at the church or submitted online by clicking on the CSA link to the left. Parents who have children enrolled in a Catholic School will find particular interest in the article below. Thank you for your continued support of our great Parish.
God’s blessings, Msgr. John Kasza
Dear Catholic School Family,
It has been the tradition of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish to support our Catholic School families with tuition assistance each year. This assistance is available to our actively participating families who demonstrate good Christian Stewardship by sharing their time, talent and treasure here at St. Therese.
To assist you with tuition expenses, the parish will pay 50% of the tuition amount when it is due. In return, the parish asks that you add that amount to your CSA pledge, over and above what you would donate to this campaign. This gives you the opportunity to make monthly or quarterly payments through CSA and not have such a large out of pocket expense at one time.
Should you wish to participate this year, you must fulfill last year’s CSA pledge amount. Please include a copy of the school’s tuition statement along with the completed Tuition Assistance Application, which is available in the Parish Office, with your current CSA pledge card.
If you have children who attend St. Lawrence School, the parish pays the difference between in-parish and out-of-parish rates, so that St. Therese families only pay the in-parish rate.
Additional tuition grants may be available from the Faith Formation Fund for Catholic High School students. Forms for the grants are also available at the Parish Office. Please submit the application as soon as possible as the award committee meets only twice a year.
If you have any additional questions, please contact parish business manager, John Nantais,586.254.4433, ext. 321 or email: JohnNantais@stthereseparish.ws
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. — Matthew 28:19-20
Bringing Jesus Christ to All
Just as St. Matthew’s Gospel recounts Christ’s call to His disciples 2,000 years ago, so, too, does He call each of us to be His disciples and to spread His Good News. We have a special opportunity to answer His call, as well as renew our personal commitment to participate as good and faithful stewards in His mission for the Church, through our annual Catholic Services Appeal.
Together, we, the faithful of the Archdiocese of Detroit, are the Body of Christ. As His Body, every day, in some way through CSA-funded ministries, programs, and services, our gifts impact the lives of thousands in southeast Michigan and beyond.
This year’s CSA theme, Bringing Jesus Christ to All, emphasizes Christ’s message in St. Matthew’s Gospel to make disciples of all nations. Our theme is indeed fitting as the Church focuses on the New Evangelization — spreading the Good News of Christ to the world.
The CSA allows us to share Christ’s message through serving countless people in ways we may not realize. All of us, personally and through our parishes, enjoy the fruits of the work of the archdiocesan Central Services departments of Communications; Development and Stewardship; Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools; and Parish Life and Services. Our gifts to the CSA also support the Office of Priestly Vocations, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and the Metropolitan Tribunal. When we use God’s blessings to pledge our annual gift to the CSA, we join with our sisters and brothers in Christ throughout the Archdiocese to do the Lord’s work — work that no one individual or parish could possibly do alone.
Please take a moment to read how gifts to the Catholic Services Appeal have made a difference in the lives of some of our neighbors.
